I have had the pleasure of working with Jakoma Park on several levels.

Firstly my daughter Kate (12) has regular lessons with Donna Franceschi concentrating on her flatwork and jumping skills. Kate first went to Donna February this year and the improvement in her confidence and skills has been wonderful to watch. The instruction is very encouraging and supportive, and really built up her confidence. After an initial assessment the lessons were well planned so that the objectives could be met, and in fact they were far surpassed. Kate is now a very confident capable show jumper and having fun and success at competitions. I am very particular about who teaches and guides my children and I would have no hesitation in recommending Donna Franceschi at Jakoma Park.

Our stud Cosy Creek Farms owns the Welsh D Stallion “Hillswood High Flyer” and I called on the services of Jakoma Park to help work on his Float Training. Donna & Jennie worked with Fly at our place for 1 week....it was a delight to watch and I learnt so much about handling horses on the ground. When we decided to send him to Jakoma Park for some Ridden Training..he walked on the float like an angel.

We decided this year to send Hillswood High Flyer to Jakoma Park to refresh his ridden work and improve his skills under saddle. I think Fly thought he had died and gone to heaven. The standard of care and the excellent facilities is a credit to Jakoma Park. He has settled in beautifully and his education has progressed so well he is having an extended stay at Jakoma Park. It is always a very hard decision to leave your precious horses with anyone other than under your own care but not only am I happy with where Fly is I am extremely confident in the level of care he is receiving. We have decided to stand Fly at stud with Jakoma Park. I have no hesitation recommending Jakoma Park for your training, agistment and breeding needs.

Jakoma Park live for their horses and their family, such generous people who give of their time and expertise so freely. They are all regulars at our Local Pony Club, always happy to “fill the truck” with other peoples horses and ponies and drive them around the state to competitions and shows and are only a phone call away should you need them.

Wayne, Jennie and Donna are the sort of “horse people” that do the industry proud and Cosy Creek Farms are delighted we are now part of the “Jakoma Family”

Our lessons are always full, informative, and fun but more importantly to me prompt! I am a busy mum and it is with pleasure that when we turn up I can trust Donna to be there at her stable doors ready begin instruction … Billie has the luxury of Donna’s help from the moment she steps onto the property until the second we drive away. Nothing has ever been too much for Jakoma Equestrian to assist us with, our requests for information been constant over the years and the assistance as a family unit has been endless.  

 

Jakoma’s facilities are a favourite for us and nothing is more pleasurable the day before the show for Billie to have a confidence building lesson and then get to use the hot water wash bay to clean her pony, no cold water fuss makes safe washing for my child! The jump arena is effective for skill development for both horse and rider and is true to what you experience in the show jump ring during a competition. The surface has proven to be brilliant all year round, we are very lucky clients and couldn’t ask for more!

 

Always a delight, always professional and will always be our first choice for our riding lessons. My daughter, Billie, has had the absolute delight of having her jump coach close by in both spirit and support both in lessons and competitions. Donna’s influence has been wonderful for Billie’s confidence and riding ability, taking her from a ‘have a go’ young rider to a careful, knowledgeable and successful showjumper. It’s our total pleasure to recommend you and your facilities.

To say the care of my horses, whilst agisted, was important to me is an understatement.  Like many other horse owners, I don’t sleep at night if I don’t know they are safe!

I have agisted numerous horses at Jakoma Equestrian Park since its establishment including brood mares, mares for foaling down, performance and competition horses and my daughter’s feral pony!

I sleep soundly at night knowing that my horses are in a safe and secure environment at Jakoma, where they receive the highest level of care. 

The facilities are superb and it enables me to safely handle and work my horses at any time of the day or night and in any kind of weather.  A mother wants her children to be safe and to know that my daughter is riding in a safe enclosed arena at Jakoma is a huge reassurance to me.  My daughter has had lessons with Donna and Wayne and has enjoyed them immensely whilst learning the foundations of her riding skills.  The bonus of kilometres of riding trails through the spectacular bush is fantastic.

Working with veterinary advice, I have seen amazing results with their wound treatment and rehabilitation and seen intensive care for foals which was second to none.  Every horse at Jakoma is treated with care and respect without allowing them to develop bad manners.

Jakoma is the next best thing to having my horses at home and the family and staff at Jakoma work with my horses above and beyond the call of duty.  I thank them for their continued help and knowledge and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services to potential clients.

I cannot say enough good things about Jakoma Park. It is a wonderful venue for training performance horses, with a lovely jumping arena and round yard, with flood-lighting and all-weather surfaces, and excellent access to natural bush for hacking out. I also found my broodmare to be well-accommodated, with large paddocks and on-site breeding facilities, and was also impressed with the care of my two rather high-maintenance geriatric horses. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have been clients of Jakoma Park Equestrian Centre. Our association with Donna and Jennie began when by chance we purchased a horse “Paris” from them in 2008. Donna was to a fault honest about the strengths and weaknesses of this horse. It is not unusual for someone to tell you the good things about a horse they are selling and just conveniently forget to mention the negatives. This was not the case when we purchased Paris, and not only did we manage to purchase a young horse that we were extremely confident we could bring along as an eventer, but we were also strongly impressed with the very sound basic education that had been put into this horse. With 4 children under 11 years old it is important to have a horse that has been well handled on the ground and has no vices. In this regard Paris was exceptional and had clearly been well trained.

 

The Franceschi’s honest approach and genuine interest in how Paris was progressing led to our further interaction with Jakoma Equestrian Park, with both my daughter and me getting riding lessons from Donna when time and distance allowed. In my opinion Donna has given Charlotte some of her best showjumping lessons yet. In fact when it came time for us to upgrade my oldest daughter’s horse to a more competitive pony Donna was our first port of call for assessing how suitable various ponies might be for Charlotte’s more senior eventing aspirations. Donna did not let us down and helped us find another exceptional pony, that she was able to test drive with some of her regular pupils.

 

Whether it has been lessons, clinics at our home, helping us source horses and ponies, or just bush rides around the magnificent Jardee forests, we have been very impressed with the professionalism, exceptional horsemanship and great teaching ability of all those involve with Jakoma Equestrian Park. I am happy to endorse them and wish them well with their expanded operations.
